Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

The Apache Production Operations Manager JV is accountable for all in field oil & gas production management & delivery, all day to day, short term & long-term operational activities in the KPC Joint Venture (JV) operating areas, and for providing technical review and technical assurance for all operational activities, plans & implementations.  

The role will be primarily responsible for:

•    Lead in HSE & instill HSE excellence in the KPC operation
•    Manage operation of all wells and oil, gas & water handling facilities and all product export pipelines to maximize production. 
•    Track daily production & identify/troubleshoot discrepancies in expectations
•    Generate opportunities to increase daily oil & gas production & more effective daily water injection
•    Communicate effectively & efficiently with all other departments & disciplines to optimize production & usage of resources
•    Optimize facilities for increased throughput & operating efficiency
•    Support field operations for Facility Eng/Projects, Drilling; Workover; Artificial Lift, Lab & Integrity teams 
•    Support the optimization of all oil & gas production, water injection, water disposal & water production 
•    Maintain a concentrated focus on cost control & cost reduction for both OPEX and CAPEX
•    Manage all operational project, facility & installation costs & budgets; conduct accruals
•    Prepare yearly operating budgets and justifications; prepare any required AFE’s and provide input into the Apache “Plan” and Apache 3-year plan
•    Develop facility repair & replacement &/or upgrade plans & implement as required based on upcoming drilling plans & production forecasts
•    Troubleshoot & solve oil, gas & water handling, or processing challenges & problems 
•    Track performance of all critical activities & develop plans for improvement & implement as required or as directed
•    Assess, review & provide technical support for project & facility designs to ensure safety standards are met and consistent with future requirements 
•    Identify & evaluate ESG Projects & provide support for implementation
•    Investigate new technologies and push to implement if applicable
•    Provide assurance for all oil & gas metering & measurement; manage non-operated 3rd party pipelines
•    Implement asset integrity & corrosion monitoring/analysis in the field 
•    Mentor & coach less experienced team members as required and prepare succession plans as directed 
•    Conduct field & site visits to improve safety, production & facility performance
•    Conduct contractor services & equipment tendering documents & justifications and work with contractors to provide the highest quality of support & activity execution
•    Manage all camp services: catering, housekeeping, fire, medical, transportation, etc.
•    Manage all field based heavy equipment, vehicles, turnaround execution, automation, chemicals, diesel usage, oil trucking, etc.
•    Manage all maintenance activities (roads; well locations, facilities, power generating turbines; compressors; buildings; camps, etc.)

Qualifications & Experience

KPC is the largest onshore oil & gas producing joint venture company in Egypt and produces over 125,000 BOPD & over 500 MMSCFD through more than 1000 active wells in over 10 operating areas with over 15 active drilling rigs & over 15 active workover rigs.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    20+ years of production operations and production operational leadership experience in the oil & gas industry is required.
•    BS degree in an engineering field (petroleum, mechanical, chemical, etc.) is required.
•    Demonstrated expertise in, but not limited to: HSE; overall oil & gas production operational management; on site facility & installation daily operations & optimization; oil & gas metering & measurement; gas compression, gas handling, production delivery; waterflood facilities; opportunity identification; oil & gas field development; SCADA, data integration; facility performance & analysis; oil field chemicals; oil water separation; planning; activity planning; budgeting; cost control; cost optimization
•    Demonstrated leadership qualities & ability to see things through to completion/implementation 
•    Proficiency in using most planning, project & facility software (MS Projects, etc.
•    Problem solving, ingenuity, imagination & creativity
•    Ability to work in an integrated team environment & communicate effectively across disciplines
•    Experience & a good understanding of financials related to production operations 
•    Effective and efficient verbal & written communication skills; strong team player
•    Willingness to share information & technical knowledge
•    Experience at mentoring & the ability to teach EGPC employees
•    Proficiency at using the industry standard suit of Microsoft Office applications is essential
•    Be a leader and actively participate in developing a better KPC
