We are looking for a talented System Performance Engineer to join our exciting Pick-up Platform Team in our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN/ home office.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Work on new and current product systems for our pickup truck engine platform to optimize system performance. This includes, but not limited to, engine performance and fuel economy optimization, hardware selection, diagnostic and feature optimization, tailpipe emission optimization, and incident resolution.
Assess and validate vehicle performance by driving any of the RAM pickup trucks.
Obtaining input and negotiating with stakeholders, such as team members, engineers from other teams, technical managers, project leaders, product and manufacturing engineers, and supplier partners
Delivering technical information, guidance, and recommendations to support and/or make project decisions.
Providing independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems, or services with greater elements of ambiguity over the senior or lead engineer level and with full accountability to the project team.
Delivering independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.
Help champion the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
A minimum of 3 years hands-on experience.
Fundamental understanding of internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems.
On the job engine testing, chassis dyno, or test cell experience with familiarity of data acquisition and instrumentation.
Experience with different data processing tools for complex or large data sets (Matlab, concerto, excel, or similar).
Calibration and OBD tuning experience preferred
