Requisition Summary

You will NOT mindlessly track and trace on UPS.com, You will NOT be held accountable for weather delays outside of your control.  You WILL command all inbound materials for a production plant gives life to the world’s best trucks!  You must be willing to make pivotal decisions which will impact truck productions daily and the financial goals each week.  You WILL have power when you speak to carriers.  Carriers who know the name PACCAR/Kenworth and respond to your needs.  With great power comes great responsibility as the plant looks to you to get material to the plant in time and under budget.  This role might just turn you into a Logistics Master.  You will coordinate and perform a wide variety of Traffic Department functions requiring independent judgment and moderate supervision.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Expedites inbound shipments and maintains shortage system information.
Maintains status reports and files.
Tracks inbound truckload shipments.
Interacts with various Materials, Plant, and Management personnel to create and implement solutions to ensure inbound material arrives to meet needs of plant.
Prepares bills of lading, air bills, and export documents to Canada.
Conducts research on assigned projects.
Maintains and utilizes the PACCAR Transportation System in managing inbound freight including interaction with the PACCAR Transportation System Planners.
Assists in creating and/or resolving Supplier Compliance issues.
Assists with clerical functions within department.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Transportation Management, or related field required
3+ years experience in domestic transportation including motor carriers, air freight, and intermodal.
Effective communication and negotiation skills including conflict resolution.
 Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
PC skills - MS Word, Excel, and Access.
Position requires an accurate detailed approach, good organization, and the ability to communicate clearly.
Must be a self-starter who has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Willing to work extended hours when required to support Traffic emergencies.
