Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s Pontic, IL facility needs a Master Scheduling Manager who will develop and manage a facility/product group master scheduling process that is innovative and promotes maximization of efficiency and optimization of resources/assets internally while retaining enough flexibility to ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely and cost-conscious manner. Responsible for key supply chain performance indicators across velocity and order-to-delivery.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Gathers forecast and constrained Sales and Operations Planning data and analyzes information to develop a valid production plan and an achievable master schedule for the facility.
Incumbent leads the facility Sales and Operations Process, reporting performance to forecast, production and inventory plans in both dollars and units. Incumbent is the facility’s key resource for information related to facility cash flow and inventory turns goals and works directly with the Demand and Orders Manager at the leadership level to address demand planning issues and coordinate efforts across supply chain and operations functions.
The incumbent leads efforts to achieve customer delivery/promise dates by setting and managing shop priorities. This position is responsible for the preparation and effective communication of the facility master schedule, after collaborating with other functions, both inside and outside of the incumbent’s facility and / or business division. Incumbent leads master scheduling for the facility, working closely with other functions, ie., facility leadership, marketing, product support, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and external business partners.
Incumbent uses common processes to develop and distribute the measurements and reports necessary to monitor progress towards goals and provide a feedback loop through which decisions can be made regarding short-term scheduling. This position drives compliance and quality assurance for the rough-cut capacity planning process using standard supply chain technology and is responsible for rough-cut capacity planning results for the facility.
Incumbent leads efforts to develop and implement a strategy for the effective coordination of all Engineering Data Notification (EDN) initiatives and leads collaboration efforts with facility supply chain planning to ensure alignment with new product introduction, engineering and product change control processes with master scheduling and capacity planning.
This position leads efforts in conjunction with marketing/sales to develop an accurate forecast and economical inventory/customer satisfaction plan. Incumbent uses information gathered from these efforts to develop an innovative, flexible approach to meet customer satisfaction requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Operations experience.
Or a Minimum of 10 years of progressively more complex supply chain experience can replace education requirement.
Advanced knowledge of material control, supply chain planning, supply chain performance, logistics, global purchasing, parts distribution, inventory control, manufacturing engineering, operations, or transportation.
Demand and Orders scheduling experience required
Top Candidates will also have:
Expertise in data analytics using Excel and/or PowerBI
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
MFG Pro is a plus
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification is a plus
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization, negotiation, conflict resolution and communication skills
Advanced product knowledge
