In this role you will develop and execute resiliency solutions for the purpose of risk evaluation, prioritization, response, monitoring, reporting, and executing strategies across the ET&T supply base. Key focus areas will include working cross-functionally to develop and implement supply base solutions to mitigate risks that could result in Supply Chain impact. These solutions could include but not limited to part banking development & implementation, supplier footprint business transfers, supplier controlled warehouse implementation, and resourcing parts.  Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Responsibilities include  (but are not limited to):

Develop mitigation proposals and execute solutions in coordination with the creativity team lead, buyers, engineering, plants, and suppliers.

Proactively communicate milestone updates, escalation support requirements, and project status.

Perform lessons learned, best practice assessment, and read-across opportunities within a commodity and more broadly within ET&T.

Sourcing and contracting activities that including sourcing event bid strategy & management, bid analytics, coordination and alignment of RFQ package components including Terms & Conditions, SOR, RFQ documentation, leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment, and management of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit Services

Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolution

Perform rate management activities including benchmarking, rate analysis, and read-across opportunities

Participate in supplier performance reviews

Support & engage in supply chain, resiliency & semiconductor activities

Analyze and support maintenance of Value Chain Maps and processes to identify critical long-term risks.

Provide feedback loop analysis to commodity team and resiliency team for activity and findings while developing and implementing risk mitigation solutions.

Document risks, signposts, mitigation plans, and changes

Plan, prioritize, coordinate, implement, execute, and publish comprehensive readable reports and presentations

Engage with suppliers to understand their risk management strategy, develop mitigation options, and implement solutions

Collaborate with the Strategic Business Resiliency & Direct Resiliency teams to improve processes and further integrate cross-functionally in end to end supply chain initiatives.

Top Candidates should possess:

Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships

Experience managing commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills

High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex

Experience with supply chain and logistics challenges

Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)

Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

Developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

An understanding of Supply Chain and Procurement functions or related field experience

A great command of project management to execute business results and communicate progress accordingly

A strong ability to problem solve, prioritize, and communicate with various levels of leadership and functions

Skill in developing materials to convey both concepts and information to targeted audience

Additional Description

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required or related degree/experience

4+ years of work experience in related areas such as Supply Chain, Direct Material/Logistics Purchasing, Value Chain Engineering, Risk Management including dealing with Suppliers and developing contracts within or outside Automotive industry

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to work effectively with others and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and globally

Comfort working sophisticated problems with tight deadlines and prioritizing assignments/projects and multi-tasking within restricted time constraints

Experience in crafting and delivering formal presentations and/or training

Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and to work with a high degree of autonomy

Commit to results with an ability to lead and effect change in the face of challenges

Desire to challenge status quo and bring improvements to existing processes

Creativity, innovation and open minded to new insights

Solid understanding of computer software (MS Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Access, PowerBI, TEAMS, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Automotive industry experience

Capable of interpreting market data

Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes

Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed

Ability to travel at least 5% of time, including international travel

High level of data analytic capability preferred

Basic understanding of IT processes and terminology

Program Management Experience

Developing / Implementing Strategies (Global/Regional)

Experience Reading and Interpreting Policy

Experience Running Business Risk (Financial, Legal, data security) including different industries than Automotive
