Summary of Duties:
• Perform engineering evaluations and system design of mechanical engineering and fluid dynamics products.
• Prepare designs to improve existing products using mechanical engineering principles of fluid dynamics/mechanics. • Develop filter and filtration system design code based on physical models, parametric models, or hybrids.
• Conduct mechanical systems analysis and simulation and document results.
• Analyze customer requirements and process data for technical evaluation.
• Identify defects in engineering products, and provide root cause/corrective action analysis of computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
• Analyze the results of CFD simulations and propose design solutions.
• Draft technical specifications and perform drawings to mechanical systems.
• Work from home benefit available within a reasonable commuting distance of the Columbia, Tennessee office.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field of study and one (1) year of experience as a Research Assistant, Graduate Fellowship, Teaching Assistant, or a closely related occupation. Also requires education or experience in the following:
• Using CFD to analyze fluid flows;
• Analysis of CFD simulation results and proposals based upon the analysis;
• 3d modeling CAD systems, such as Solidworks or Inventor;
• Addition of capabilities to CFD codes to account for effects not modeled in the software; and
• Ability to convey and explain complex information both verbally and in written documentation.
