Job Description

Your Responsibilities

As a Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer for the Backhoe and Skid Steer Loader Divisions located in Dubuque, IA, you will support first shift profile cutting production and forming functions of current and new product fabrication within the backhoe and skid steer loader operations. 

In addition, you will:

Be responsible for programming laser and plasma cutting machines and presses
Provide production floor support including methods of operation, efficient material flow, balancing work between machines, setting time standards and supporting the maintenance and operation of this process
Work with production engineers, supervisors, plant engineering, and the production floor to translate these inputs into a production process that meets factory goals for safety, cost, quality, and productivity.  
Help diagnose machine downtime issues, perform profile nesting to align with efficient kitting, increased material utilization, downtime events, and support during production rate changes.  
Lead CI200 processes to deliver safety, quality, and efficiency improvements in our profile production areas

Understanding of profile cutting methods
Understanding of forming 
An understanding of manufacturing processes
An understanding of quality planning and control
Self-starter with the ability to execute a variety of tasks with little supervision
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment
Ability to work overtime or weekends based on business needs

What Makes You Stand Out (Desired skills/experiences)

Two or more years of manufacturing or CAD/Creo experience obtained through relevant internships, educational projects, or practical work experiences
Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, total preventative maintenance, and facilities
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in lean manufacturing 
Experience with SAP and PDM (Product Data Management)
Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools, specifically PTC Creo or similar 3D modeling software
Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance, and visual management tools
Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems, and work measurement

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: 

Bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or engineering technology, or associates degree with two or more years of manufacturing experience and/or two or more years of CAD/Creo experience
