IT Finance Senior Budget Analyst

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individual for our Financial Systems Analyst position in Costa Mesa, CA. This position is responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the annual budget, forecasts, variances, reporting and analytics for the ACE Information Systems business unit including daily / weekly / monthly performance / metrics, staffing forecasts, monthly expense reconciliation, analysis of variances, key metrics, and business drivers.

The Budget Analyst plans and manages IT Finance budgets, monitors, and reports spending, coordinates the allocation of funds and has accounting and financial management knowledge.  

Analyzes the financial and resource plan for the ACE IS Organization, specifically Operating Expenditure (OpEx) and Capital Expenditures (CapEx), including assets.

Manages headcount plan and staffing forecast for employees (internal) and contractors (external).

Works with Group Managers and other budget analyst or cost center owners and estimates their annual needs, updates the monthly forecasts, reconciles the monthly spend.

Conveys this information back to the managers by meeting and reporting regularly.

Works within the established processes and policies across functional areas, including Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal and HR.

Executes and manages IT Procurement Process and the Procure-to-Pay process and ensures the cost center managers are compliant with established internal controls.

Responsibilities:

Position must be able to develop and run ad-hoc reports from multiple internal Club data sources, prioritize competing responsibilities, provide analytical support to the cost center owners and their senior management across multiple Information System teams.

Broad experience in financial accounting.

Must understand key GAAP Accounting principles and how they interact with Technology spend.

Must be familiar with GL accounts that make up the Balance Sheet and P&L.

Desire success in improving operational efficiency and data quality; specifically using Apptio.

Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple levels of management and staff across the organization.

Requirements:

Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Advanced analytical (critical thinker) and data analysis skills

Professional oral / written communication, finance/accounting and organizational skills, required.

Strong computer skills including proficiency in Oracle Financials / Apptio and all Microsoft office software products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint), required.

Minimum 3-5 years of prior work experience in Finance or Accounting, required.

Professional organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to multitask and meet project deadlines as set by management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Apptio TBM and Tableau is desired.
