A Day in the Life

The Neurovascular Contract Manager leads a team of contract analysts who support the commercial contracting needs of the Neurovascular operating unit and the Enterprise Accounts organizations within the U.S. Market. Also, this leader and team of analysts will be responsible for supporting key commercial personnel within the Neurovascular business. This manager will have responsibility for leading and developing a best-in-class contracting team with responsibilities that include performance management, employee development, talent acquisition and employee retention.    

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Leadership

Directs the activities of a team of analysts, with functional and geographical responsibilities   
Provides leadership, coaching and career development for employees in key commercial support roles
Negotiates, administers, extends, and if necessary, terminates standard and nonstandard contracts 
Manages inquiries from internal business partners and external customers, conducting research as needed and providing timely and thorough follow up   
Ensures that contract documents and processes are compliant with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications 
Provides company management with data and analysis on contracting and pricing trends
Leads team in prioritizing contract & pricing requests, evaluating the appropriate functional strategy, executing pricing strategies, and negotiating health system contracts
Oversees team’s performance of the administration of contracts, monitoring of contract performance, analysis of trends, and tracking of compliance  
Consults with and influences sales leadership and functional partners
Leads efforts to attract, develop and retain individuals who can make critical contributions to organizational success  
Provides leadership and coaching to employees through timely and candid performance evaluations  
Supports meaningful career development activities
Ensures compliance with expected service levels and business partner expectations

Governs the approvals of all key business processes
Adheres to governance processes and mitigates Medtronic’s risk 
Manages contract compliance with standard operating procedures, legal templates, and company policies    
Leads team in optimizing the usage and impact of rebates and other customer incentives
Successfully lead the training and implementation of all existing and new business processes and tools
Provides feedback to leadership regarding potential process improvements or system enhancements which optimize team effectivenes

Commercial Sales Support

Lead team’s development and execution of contracting and pricing strategies in response to customer request for proposals (RFPs)
Ensures customer requests are completed in a timely manner in accordance with Medtronic pricing strategies, terms, and conditions  
Provides robust and accurate pricing, contracting and rebate analysis  
Provides rationale behind pricing approvals to help facilitate positive outcomes in pricing negotiations
Executes and monitors negotiated contracts from implementation to expiration to ensure accurate administration 
Supports Customer Care, Credit Financial Services, and other organizations to resolve pricing discrepancies and other related issues 
Helps Neurovascular operating unit in supporting commercial launch of new product introductions (NPIs), including preparing and executing customer level contracting and pricing strategies for all NPIs.

This position is intended to be a hybrid, on-site and work-from-home schedule.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a business, finance, and/or contracting position, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a business, finance, and/or contracting position

Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or Accounting   
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications including, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
Experience with SAP and Business Objects
Additional experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, healthcare or related areas desirable
Solid business acumen and judgment
Knowledge of Contract Law
Sound analytical skills, ability to manipulate and interpret data
Self-motivated and goal oriented
Tactful, exercises independent judgment and discretion
Ability to work in fast paced environment with high attention to detail
Strong relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to function well in high-energy business environments
