This position reports to the Vice President, Behavior Science & Analytics and closely partners with other JJHWS functions as well as J&J organizations to apply Behavior Science technical expertise to create solutions/interventions that improve health outcomes for the broad and diverse populations that J&J serves. He/she will lead all relevant projects, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables. Additionally, he/she will provide strategic problem solving, research, data gathering and interpretation, and communications to the various J&J internal stakeholders, including executive leadership as well as external J&J customers and partners engaged in the health initiatives. S/he will lead a team of behavior and data specialists and well as provide technical and leadership support to J&J project team members and their partnering organizations.
Responsibilities:
Strategy development - Collaborate with key leaders within J&J internal organizations and their customers, partners and contractors/suppliers, use evidence to shape behavior-based programs and solutions that improve health outcomes for patients and deliver value for all stakeholders.
Project management – Lead as the DRI (Directly Responsible Individuals) in behavior-based solution design projects. Provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure that scientific methods meet established standards.
Communications and stakeholder relationships – Establish and maintain strong communication with key leadership stakeholders involved in the projects, including Executive Leadership of the organization as well as Executive Committee members, when relevant.
Impact measurement – Design and measure impact of behavior-based programs and solutions. Lead research and evaluation projects related to strategic initiatives and projects. Communicate findings to project partners.
Lead and grow – Lead, shape and grow team members’ knowledge and skills in behavior-based solution design, measurement and optimization.
Research publication – publish work in peer reviewed publications as applicable.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: PhD or DrPH in Behavior Science or similar field
Required Years of Related Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of overall work experience is required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of behavior science and/or population-based health interventions.
Minimum 3 years of people management experience required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in leveraging behavior theories, frameworks, and evidence to design, develop, deploy and evaluate behavior-based health interventions is required.
Experience in communicating results of behavior-based research and evaluations with science and non-science audiences as well as publication in peer reviewed scientific conferences and journals.
Experience in applying health behavior-based science in commercial environments.
40% travel required.
