We will be looking to you to oversee the preparation and review of Western Union’s SEC filings, with respect to financial information, to ensure accurate and complete disclosures that are in accordance with SEC requirements, including the 10-k, 10-Q, earnings release 8-K, proxy, debt offering and other 8-K filings.  You will review and analyze certain standalone financial statements provided to regulators and manage standalone financial statements.  You’ll perform quality and timely SEC and technical accounting analysis, including preparation of summary memoranda to be presented to management and outside auditors.  You will certain aspects of public company audit and quarterly reviews, along with preparing, reviewing, and analyzing ad hoc reporting requests by senior management and regulators.  You’ll oversee consolidation of entities for internal and external reporting purposes, including elimination of intercompany activity and balances, and govern the corporate chart of accounts. You will also direct the Company’s accounting for stock compensation.

For such a pivotal role, you will have 10 years of financial accounting experience with at least 3 years of technical accounting experience working with SEC reporting.  You will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA strongly preferred.  You’ll have strong leadership skills and mentoring qualities.  You will have significant experience implementing process improvement.  You will be detailed oriented and demonstrate advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.  You will have strong communication skills and be able to communicate with different levels of senior leadership.  Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies is also desirable.
