As directed by the Manager - Fuel Operations, minimize the cost of fueling operations while ensuring the integrity, safety, and flexibility necessary to meet operational requirements. Provide a critical interface between the Fuel Operations, Airport Customer Service, Maintenance, Corporate Real Estate, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Environmental Affairs teams.
The role is a part of the Fuel Operations team within our Fuel & Energy Management group. You’ll bring your communication, project management, and analytical skills.

What you'll do

Monitor daily departure delays caused by fueling. Assist Manager to determine root causes of fueling delays of all stations especially hub locations
Negotiate contracts and manage into-plane fueling service vendors
Support the Fuel Supply group at locations where fueling services are purchased separately
Submit audit and training requests via VSMR database and follow up with QA and Training Departments to ensure audit and training are completed
Work with Accounts Payable to set up new vendors in the invoicing system; coordinate with Airport Operations to plan and facilitate new vendor transition for fueling services
Analyze and ensure AA’s fueling infrastructure requirements are met by working with Airport Authorities, Fuel Facility Owners / Operators, Fuel Service Contractors, Other Airlines and Fueling Consortia
Manage the fueling service contract database
Manage and develop the AA budget for all fuel service fees; investigate and explain variances versus plan; work with Accounting / Fuel Analysts to validate invoices and ensure proper authorization for consortium / into plane contracts
Manage Inter-company issues/billing/cost allocations to ensure the best interest of the company are achieved
Review regional member status at consortium locations
Lead and preside over several small/medium fueling consortiums; manage and select service providers for the effective operation of these consortia; work with service providers to develop the annual budget and preparation for annual meetings
Develop business cases for new infrastructure requirements / systems for review by consortia and internal management
Contribute cross-functionally to support corporate/group objectives

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Undergraduate degree in Business, Finanace, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, or Accounting

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Prior Tech Ops, Finance, Operations, and/or Procurement experience a plus
Previous energy management experience a plus
Experience with RFP development, contract negotiations, and business case development preferred, familiar with budget process

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

Proven project management skills involving multiple departments and/or companies with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and present effectively to senior management and other departments
Commitment to quality and pride in work, patience, perserverance, diplomacy
Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking skills
Must have a desire to learn and fill gaps as requested
Ability to understand and manage complex processes
Proficient with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Frequent travel may be required
