Job Description

The Head of Enterprise Data Assets is responsible and accountable for leading a team of individuals tasked with identifying, planning, defining, configuring, maintaining and monitoring enterprise data sets to serve the analytical community.  This role will create and nurture critical partnerships with IT and CDAO business facing teams to support enterprise data asset creation for top department initiatives including One View Of the Customer (OVOC), Enterprise Data Layer (EDL) – vehicle telemetry, and the enterprise shift to Electric Vehicles (EV). The successful candidate will possess a work style that promotes progress through collaborative teamwork and strong leadership to deliver “big wins” for the CDAO and analytics community as a whole.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a team of 15+ experienced & inexperienced business professionals across multiple geographic locations, providing career guidance, mentoring, and support
Advises senior leadership on process/products that have high return on investments in the future
Enable data-driven business benefits through enterprise data asset maintenance and optimization
Accountable for creating and implementing EDA strategy including data certification in support of CDAO business value delivery
Directly responsible for delivering IT project (PPM) results for CDAO projects requiring productionized data assets
Design and develop strategies, processes, policies or original solutions to highly complex issues; often involving multiple functions
Experience in talent management and leadership development
High collaboration with key business and IT stakeholders/application teams to understand, document and prioritize data needs
Support and communicate the enterprise data strategy and vision
Support and participate in managing key technology vendor relationships, ensuring they have context to current product gaps and priorities from a business perspective
Provide support for users of the data and manage advancement of it,  advancing capabilities and maturing internal processes
Monitor and adopt industry-related trends for best in class data management

QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of experience leading people, motivating teams and building an atmosphere of innovation
10+ years of experience creating and managing cross-functional relationships with related business teams, IT and other groups
5+ years of IT or data management experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining technology solutions
Familiairty with Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality practices
Working knowledge of data science and machine learning tools like: Alteryx, Knime, Informatica, etc.. and data quality / profiling tools like: IBM Information Analyzer, Informatica, Ataccama
API’s usage to retrieve and update metadata in multiple formats: JSON, XML, CSV, RDF, etc…
Strong comprehension of metadata and processes to ingest and maintain it
Superior verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Persuasive, encouraging, motivating and diplomatic, with conflict resolution skills
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, customers and other departments
Adept at troubleshooting and managing around current capability gaps
Able to prioritize and execute tasks and conform to changing priorities
