Meta’s Sustainability team drives sustainability strategy, programs and engagement across the company and with our partners. We seek an experienced Manager to lead a team focused on sustainable design & construction coordination, water stewardship, and carbon reduction programs for a global portfolio of data center projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience with LEED, energy efficiency, renewable energy, water restoration, and life cycle assessment. This position is full-time.
Manager, Data Center Sustainability
Responsibilities
Lead a global team responsible for incorporating sustainability objectives into our data center design, construction, and operation projects.
Create and manage sustainability strategy for the team and partner with internal stakeholders to socialize and embed sustainability goals and targets.
Serve as an internal and external facing subject-matter expert in green building and construction decarbonization in support of Meta’s Net Zero program.
Ensure sustainability objectives are accomplished and report out on progress.
Manage external consultants.
Track industry standards and emerging trends to drive long-term strategy.
Up to 25% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental studies, or a related field.
15+ years of work experience managing corporate sustainability programs with an emphasis on the built environment, decarbonization, and supply chain management.
5+ years of work experience managing people and leading teams in a matrixed organization.
Technical experience with LEED and principles of circularity, zero waste, water, and embodied carbon.
Experience delivering programs aligned with large scale corporate goals through influence and collaboration.
Flexible, entrepreneurial spirit with experience influencing across an organization with indirect authority.
LEED Accredited Professional, Building Design & Construction and/or Operations & Maintenance.
