POSITION SUMMARY
Provides leadership for emergency department service staff ensuring the quality and integrity of care delivered. Develops plan of care for service line based upon RN assessment/re-assessment. Is responsible for fiscal and human resource allocation based upon guidelines
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises personnel providing direct patient care, with delegation of activities based on patient care needs and competencies of available patient care staff.
Teaches, supervises and serves as a resource for staff, assists with clinical procedures as needed.
Assesses need for and assists in implementation of staff development programs to enhance professional growth of personnel.
Maintains effective utilization and maintenance of manpower, equipment, and supplies.
Assumes administrative responsibilities for the provision of services on designated shift in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
* BSN required
* Five years of emergency nursing experience preferred
* Management experience preferred
* ER charge Nurse experience preferred
* Current RN License in the State of Texas or compact license
* AHA or ARC BLS provider
* AHA or ARC ACLS and PALS within 6 months
* TNCC required within 18 months.
* ENPC or CEN within 18 months
