Mercer is recruiting for a Data Analytics Liaison to support its Complex Case Clinical Oversight team. This is a remote opportunity.

The Data Analytics Liaison will support the Complex Case Clinical Oversight team working as the liaison between the clinical team and other internal departments assisting in the development of metrics to analyze program success, developing approaches to determine return on investment calculations, and providing analytic and project support to the clinical team to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the program and team operations.

We will count on you to:

Participate in meetings to provide insight and expertise on defining data models, including knowledge of the capabilities and flexibility of different models and data management tools (ex: Excel vs. Access). Take detailed notes on calls, to ensure accurate information is collected to determine project and data scope. 

Initiate the data model architecture, evaluating the project scope to determine if existing data model is sufficient or if a new data model needs to be created. Define data architecture based on project scope, insight from the Program Manager and Clinical team and direction from the program’s Nurse Leader. Ensure data model architecture captures the full scope of the project, adheres to data management best practices and is flexible enough to make future adjustments. 

Provide clear direction and defined timelines. Share knowledge with team and provide technical assistance as needed to support the Clinical Oversight solution. Act as resource for staff, answer questions, provide work-arounds for obstacles that arise. 

Identify data anomalies and exceptions as observed in project deliverables (reports, analysis). Understand the reasons and impacts of data anomalies and exceptions on the analysis in order to explain these issues to senior staff or project lead. Think through data issues and formulate possible solutions. Communicate data anomalies with project and client team and provide insight, expertise and direction on address issues regarding the data anomalies

Project manage multiple tasks on different projects simultaneously to include the following: organize project work flow and identify key milestones; manage the quality and timeliness of project deliverables; ensure deliverables are client ready 

Ensure data confidentiality and work to develop systems and processes to support ongoing data protection.

Support the clinical team through participation on interviewing teams, provision of technical assistance to enhance technical skillsets and/or offer recommendations for product enhancements. 

Act as the clinical team’s single point of contact to receive inquiries from Consultants and to coordinate with Stop Loss coalition sales team on employer specific quotes and questions as needed.

Identify opportunities for process and/or data improvements and actively support Stop Loss Clinical Oversight related projects and associated data needs.

What you need to have: 

BA/BS or equivalent experience required 

Minimum five years of industry experience required 

Thorough understanding of general health care concepts, commercial health and benefit field preferred

Knowledge of MS Office Tools. Advanced skills in Excel. Intermediate skills in Access. Intermediate skills in PowerPoint 

Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Understanding of statistics and quality measurement principles and methodologies desirable  

Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills 

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment 

Ability to partner and lead small teams to deliver project objectives 

Ability to work independently and on a team

Prior experience/ knowledge of managed care clinical operations.
