Job Description

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Designs and plans layout for activities such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, surface finishing and materials handling.
Prepare and execute validation strategies for diverse processes.
Conduct training to direct personnel on new process introductions.
Evaluate design requirements and develop manufacturing process conditions.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
Complies with company programs, procedures and applicable quality system regulations and standards.
Leverages technical expertise and knowledge of Medtronic's standard engineering approaches, design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required

Nice to Have

Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry
Knowledge of Medtronic MES systems (Factory Works and SAP)
Knowledge of Agile MAP and Agile MDT
Basic knowledge of cleaning and sterilization proesses
Basic knowledge of surface treatment, assembly and laser processes
Able to analyze, propose and prepare engineering studies.
Able to analyzes released engineering changes and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and doc control for activities such as product step holds and shipping quality holds.
Engineering Prototype Service Request (EPSR) coordination, process development, execution and finance assessment
Able to develop manufacturing instructions for new products and transfers
Engineering degree prefer
