We’re actively seeking a talented Director of Digital Transformation-Analytics to join our Digital Transformation-Analytics Team (DTA) in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site or 100% remote with some travel to our home office in Newport Beach.

As a Director of Digital Transformation-Analytics, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by optimizing our analytics projects and portfolio to maximize returns from our analytics work. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 15 people in the Retirement Solutions Division (RSD). Your colleagues will include Director of Data Science, Director of Data Engineering & Visualization and other Data professionals.

The DTA team represents the Center of Enablement and “Hub” of all things analytics within RSD, which has made data-driven decisions a priority. We are an integral part of the Digital Transformation for Pacific Life, focusing on making our company a digital leader over the coming years. Our aim is to enable problem-solvers to have strong quantitative insights at the right time to drive optimal outcomes for customers, sales partners and employees alike. Our team is comprised of PhD-level Data Scientists, highly experienced Data Engineers, experts in Visualization technologies and a leadership with significant experience in corporate strategy, finance and advanced analytics.

How you will make an impact:

Oversee our Agile processes and strategic planning efforts, including best practice management to ensure we consistently intake, prioritize, track, execute and measure our outcomes in the Analytics space.
Oversee our budgeting, financial tracking and financial measurement efforts to ensure we are delivering measurable financial value and adhering to expected budgets
Oversee our communications and project management functions for the team

The experience you will bring:

Undergraduate Degree in IT, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Accounting or another quantitative focused degree
Background in Analytics, Technology, Operations, Finance, Project Management, or Strategy functions required
10+ years of work experience required
Expertise in Excel; highly proficient in MS Office suite including MS Project highly desirable
Strong experience with Agile processes and technologies including Azure Dev Ops
Experience as a Program or Project Manager on a Transformational Effort highly desirable 
Strong experience with budgeting and financial analysis
Comfortable with presenting to senior leadership in large group setting
Comfortable with basic statistics
Comfort with building processes and making decisions around open-ended, fast-moving business problems
Track record of negotiating and building consensus in a changing environment
Comfortable with forging new processes and strategies

What will make you stand out:

Masters in Business Administration or other advanced degree
Experience in Financial Services, Insurance, Consulting or Manufacturing industries
Certifications (PMP, Scrum Master)
Experience in a Data Science team working with AI/ML platforms
Transformational experience at a large company
