Position Desciption:
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end project life cycle for IT projects including planning, organizing, execution, management, and closure of projects. The Project Manager will drive all aspects of the project to ensure projects are completed on time and within their specified budgets. The Project Manager will also contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO & Delivery standards.
Responsibilities:
Inspire and lead a team of IT professionals to deliver North America IT (NAIT) projects and to better align technology and applications to our business goals, ensure the team has the right capabilities to meet fast-changing business needs.
Oversees the execution and monitoring of projects as assigned by their Manager to drive new innovative projects or to perform operational improvements.
Aids in the strategic goals of NAIT with excellent communication skills that enable project success.
Leads project implementation from start to finish using standardized project artifacts and processes for initiating, planning and coordination, executing, monitoring, and controlling, and closing projects.
Plans and executes projects, direct, and manage project teams consisting of internal, and external resources including customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Works across departments to ensure their needs and wants are included within the confines of the project and budgetary restrictions.
Creates and maintains project artifacts including project charters, scope, plans, resources, schedule, cost, issues, risks, change and progress to plan documents.
Issues clear and timely, professionally written, internal and external communication.
Monitors project scope, budget and stay ahead of issues that can cause scope creep or schedule/cost overages.
Tracks progress to plan and apprise project stakeholders of detailed project information: project financials, health, risks, and mitigation plans.
Contributes to developing PMO & Delivery standards and guidelines, and raising the overall Project Management Maturity level
Work in collaboration with all departments and NAIT teams to ensure the centralized governance. Delivers the expected outcomes for all NAIT projects.
Partner with global infrastructure teams to develop a joint cadence for change and release management.
The position is accountable to drive improvements to partner delivery management practices. Contributes to the PMO & Delivery function with consistent governance processes, best practices, procedures, and tools to optimize delivery outcomes.
This role forms strategic partnerships with stakeholders, vendors and suppliers
Ensure that project goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.
Periodic US travel for projects and meetings may be required
Qualifications
Required Experience:
6+ years of project management experience, utilizing project management methodologies (e.g., waterfall, SDLC, agile/scrum)
1+ years of PMO process development experience
Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Excel, Project, Azure DevOps and PowerPoint
Solid understanding of current technologies (e.g. Cloud, SaaS)
