Our Policy & Communications team collaborate with governments and policy organizations at local and national levels. We address legislative and regulatory issues that promote and protect the discovery of innovative medicine, vaccines and animal health products while improving and protecting patient access to care. We take great care to monitor and manage the reputation of our company communicating the work we do to improve lives.

As part of US Policy and Government Affairs and Global Regulatory Policy Leadership Team, will develop and implement public policy positions and advocacy strategy consistent with the companys business and public policy objectives.

* Responsible for managing 2 Associate Directors of State Government Affairs in their state government advocacy activities covering states in the western/eastern half of the U.S.
* Individual responsibility to represent Organon in key headquarter and additional regional states TBD
* Manage Organon State Government Affairs teams interaction with state public officials, including legislative and executive branch officials and staff, as well as relevant external stakeholders.
* Partner with the Organon U.S. Federal Relations, Global Communications, Legal and other internal stakeholders on issues requiring coordinated input

Education Minimum Requirements:

* BS/BA required
* Masters or graduate degree in a field related to health care policy preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

* Experience in State Government Affairs and/or State Policy role
* At least 8 years of experience in managing U.S. state government affairs issues and activities related to health care policy in multiple states, including legislative advocacy
* Demonstrated experience in state legislative policy-making process
* Experience in analyzing state legislation

Preferred Experience and Skills:

* Proven ability to build relationships with high-level executives in healthcare and/or in state government
* Excellent oral and written communications skills
