Job Description / Responsibilities:

This is a working manager role overseeing a small team of engineers charged with VHDL design verification within our avionics design group.  The candidate needs good people skills as they will work directly with circuit and VHDL designers, quality assurance, verification, and configuration management personnel.

Familiarity with FPGAs, VHDL, and the validation/verification process associated with FPGA design. Specifically,

Experience with VHDL for design for high reliability
Experience with VHDL for verification
Experience with digital circuit design and analysis
Take pride and ownership of the career development, mentorship, and motivation of ADG verification  engineering team members.
Work with program management teams and Electrical Engineering department program leads to allocate ADG engineering support across multiple launch vehicle programs.
Personal interaction with the Director of Electrical Engineering (DEE) to provide technical and program related status.
Work with ADG Team members, Electrical Engineering Department managers, and DEE to implement improvements to increase the ADG team efficiency, quality of products, and engineering process on a continual basis.
Forecast potential technical and program related problems that may impact optimal engineering, schedule and cost results. Report the concerns to the DEE.
Provide assistance as required to ADG verification engineers to prioritize specific tasks. Escalate and remove obstacles when schedule, prioritization, and staffing conflicts exist among more than one program.
Ensure each member of the ADG verification engineering team complies with department engineering standards, corporate policies, and procedures including time keeping, training and ethics.

Basic Qualifications

Level II

Requires BS in Electrical Engineering
9 years of experience including 2-4 years of experience leading a team
Familiarity with FPGAs, VHDL, and the validation/verification process associated with FPGA design. Specifically,
Experience with VHDL for design for high reliability
Experience with VHDL for verification
Experience with digital circuit design and analysis
Demonstrated ability to provide support and assistance for team members.
Ability to be politely assertive with program offices and other stake holders as necessary, in support of ADG team members.
Strong communication skills and an ongoing positive demeanor.
Provide presentations and status, as required, to program personnel as well as executive management.
U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous VHDL/FPGA verification experience within the aerospace sector is highly desired.
Agile methodology, Agile Implementation, ICARD, and Jira experience is desired
