Job Description

Duties will include:

 

Plan and coordinate seasonal timber harvest and reforestation activities.
Assist with forest/wildlife research projects.
Collect data needed in preparation of mining permits.
Prepare reclamation related permit revisions.
Assist with identification and remediation of permit compliance issues including water treatment.
Collect surface and ground water samples at assigned locations
Assist Technical Services Dept with other permitting and/or reclamation needs.

 

The lifestyle:

This position is a full time dayshift role, working on a Monday-Friday roster out of our Bear Run Mine.

 

About you:

B.S. in Forestry/Environmental related field. MS preferred.
Mining related experience involving permitting and reclamation is desired.
Experience in environmental regulatory issues with emphasis on air and mining desirable.
Knowledge of air modeling and monitoring methods preferred.
Must be proficient in Excel and Word.  Basic AutoCAD experience is desired.
Knowledge of state and federal mining regulations.
Forest/Wildlife management experience is preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours
Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone
Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents
Must be able to find, remove and return files to/from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person
Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc.

May be required to work beyond normal office hours
