Position Overview:
The Production Specialist, powder coat is a broadly defined position that encompasses competency or skill development. This position requires team members to learn the production line, manufacturing process and philosophy, and perform certain workstations within required cycle times. This position handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. The Production Specialist – Powder coat paint will be working in the paint department area, loading different size components onto an automatic paint conveyor line. Following instruction is key in performing all responsibilities.
Role Responsibilities:
Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures
Adhere to and promote The Terex Way Values
Follow all safety regulations for themselves as well as other team members, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed
Follows paint production schedule to determine parts to load.
Visually inspects and loads components onto automatic conveyor paint line.
Basic understanding of assembly processes.
Basic knowledge in the usage of common hand tools, hand held power tools, fabricating equipment, and portable air tools such as a ratchet.
Requires sufficient reasoning ability to understand detailed, yet repetitive, written and oral instructions, and solve straightforward, immediate problems.
Requires the ability to perform arithmetic calculations and read and record detailed measurements, counts, distances, and times.
Requires the ability to learn and understand safety, continuous quality, and just-in-time within a reasonable period of time.
Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment, make intricate connections, and make precise measurements.
Maintain clean work area and participate in 5s standards
Maintain tools and equipment in working condition
Troubleshoot basic issues and problems
Flex into other areas and departments as needed
All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Willing to train
Previous experience in powder coat painting in a manufacturing environment a plus
Ability to successfully pass a respirator test
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience
Possess beginning to working knowledge of the subject matter
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to accurately read and understand tape measurements
Understand and demonstrate basic computer skills
Strong orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Previous experience working with hand and air tools is desired
Previous experience working in a fast paced environment is desired
Familiarity within a manufacturing environment is desired
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:
10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling and lifting
40 to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance of machinery or others to move objects
Ability to stand on concrete for 10+ hours per shift
Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on a continuous basis.
