Senior Technical Program Manager, Search and Discovery

Job Description

What you’ll do:

Own technical program delivery by driving new feature development through every stage of the agile software development lifecycle

Drive agile planning, execution processes, backlog management and work prioritization

Collaborate with partners, product, and development teams to craft technical solutions and provide detailed specifications that satisfy scalability, reliability, and performance goals

Lead trade-offs between cost, schedule, and customer benefit; and provide technical direction and guidance

Turn high-level project objectives into a comprehensive set of requirements by collaborating with various business owners from multiple cross teams and domains

Write detailed technical specifications in the form of agile stories that developers and testers consume. This includes analyzing high-level requirements and working with service teams to understand their interfaces

You will go broad and deep into the platform architecture to work with the SRE teams on delivering highly scalable and resilient solutions

You will find opportunities to continuously harden our platform and cloud infrastructures at scale

Develop product phase-out planning in line with the product roadmap.

You will collaborate with partner teams to identify future needs and prioritize development and delivery

You will develop a disciplined approach to improving team abilities and efficiency

You will identify the metrics that matter and use them to drive team progress

Lead and define improvements in team processes, creating self-organising and impactful engineering teams

You will actively identify and resolve potential roadblocks with a hands-on approach

Provide Agile coaching/support for multiple workstreams

Who you are:

Bachelor’s in Business, Computer Science or any related field; or equivalent related professional experience

You are an accomplished practitioner of Agile methodologies beyond simply running ceremonies and understand how to use and be Agile to best support the teams

You have excellent project management skills, including active mitigation of risks to the plan, providing status updates, management of trade-offs to drive satisfactory completion of product/project, and facilitation of planning and governance activities with the team(s)

6+ years of technical product management experience

6+ years with agile development practices and methodologies

Experience building strong relationships across different functions in the team and across parts of the organization

Have a keen sense of team dynamics and how to continually tune and improve the team's process to keep things running effectively

Strong analytical abilities, using tools and data to evaluate team success, process changes as well as the customer impact of feature delivery

Experience with working and evaluating business, web service, and infrastructure monitoring tools

Experience designing resilient, scalable, and highly available systems at scale

Prior engineering experience, building web applications at scale with core software development fundamentals

Fine attention to detail and high bar to deliver quality products and features

Highly collaborative, and calm in the face of competing priorities and ambiguity

A high degree of competency in all phases of project management, including issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and achievements and communicating overall project status

Naturally curious and driven with a passion to make things better at every opportunity

You make decisions based on data/metrics and believes in customer centricity
