Job Summary
A Data Visualization Engineer I, is responsible for managing data sourcing, retrieval, visualization and analysis of Enterprise reports. The duties include organizing data, communicating between end users, management and the IT department and analyzing data to meet the organization’s needs.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
A Data Visualization Engineer has a diverse scope of duties and responsibilities both technical and functional. The primary duty of the Data Visualization Engineer is to transform data into insight that can help to improve business decision making. Other duties and responsibilities of a Data Visualization Engineer include:
Write SQL queries, develop and manage business intelligence solutions for the organization using data platforms like Snowflake and SQL Server
Identify data sources and classify data for use in the Data Warehouse
Create business intelligence tools including, reports and visualizations, for the Enterprise using tools like Power BI and Spotfire.
Collaborate with IT team members and business users to define requirements and processes for sharing data, creating and managing reports
Create and maintain documentation on best practices, design, requirements, training, etc
Ensure processes, best practices and standards are understood across IT and the business users

Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science or related field
Experience
Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
