Job Description

Position Summary

BorgWarner DTS seeks a business analytics and process intern to support the BU central purchasing team.  This position will assist with cost reduction (consolidation/tracking/reporting), master data management (new supplier creation process/data cleansing), purchasing systems (maintenance/access/implementation support/training support), others as needed.

Key accountabilities

Assist in data cleansing to support ongoing data management
Identify the appropriate data sources, analytical methods and tools required for each analysis
Develop documentation/instructions regarding datasets and analysis
Assist in the daily activities of ad hoc analysis and reporting
Validate and understand analysis
Summarize results in professional presentations
Support process and systems as needed
Systems development and maintenance support (Qlik/Ivalua/SPS)
Ivalua data cleansing
Supplier Target support (Smart Targets)
Understand the logic between systems and help on improvements
Contact plants on data discrepancies/solutions
Sharepoint page maintenance
Other tasks as needed (org charts updates, event preparations, etc.)

 Education/Experience

The successful candidate will have problem solving and data management skills.

Computer Science or Business field (Marketing, Business Administration)
Self-motivated with good time management skills and ability to work independently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn new business and technical skills and develop creative approaches to solving difficult problems
Ability to work within large teams and communicate effectively

Qualifications:

Must know Excel (pivot tables, vlook ups)
Experience with data manipulation/consolidation
Proficient in PowerPoint
Must be reliable (month end close)
