Summary:

Responsible for providing strategic direction and expertise to understand key business questions that can be addressed using data. Accountable for leading, designing, developing and fielding data driven solutions that have a direct impact to the organization. Works closely with leaders across the Enterprise to build a variety of models to provide insight into critical business decisions. Connects with stakeholders across organizations to identify opportunities to extract value from datasets to produce innovative solutions and solve focused analytical problems.


Job Description:

Develops, analyzes and models operational, economic, management, accounting and other organizational data to quantify the competitive performance of business segments, evaluate potential operational changes, and design new approaches and methodologies. Analyzes organizational data to recommend solutions to new and complex problems, develops innovative strategies, quantifies the competitive performance of the organization's operations and/or markets; models and evaluates the potential impact of changes. Applies and integrates statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis skills to manage and manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Demonstrated leadership or management experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex projects and effectively leading interdisciplinary teams to accomplish project goals.
Demonstrated experience formulating, approaching, and solving complex analytical problems using a quantitative, scientific approach.
Demonstrated experience interfacing with business clients and partnering with business stakeholders to create solutions.
Demonstrated experience communicating business implications of complex data relationships and results of statistical models to multiple business partners.
Demonstrated experience in machine learning, predictive modeling, or statistics / data mining using large amounts of structured, semi structured, and unstructured data.
Demonstrated experience managing in an Agile environment.
Demonstrated experience using analytically oriented languages such as Python or R.
Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets using big data technologies and script language such as Python, Java, or C/C++.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of advanced statistical, machine learning and/or data mining techniques.
Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance industry products and services. ?

Education & Licenses

 MS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional Job Information:

Must be both strategic and hands-on, possess strong thought leadership
Must have experience managing at least 2 or more senior data scientists
>= 4 years of data science experience, with Python and SQL hands on experience
Must be great communicator and can articulate complex subjects to business centric langauge
Good grounding math and statistics
Highly experienced in modeling work using machine and deep learning models, and NLP algorithms
P&C business domain experience preferred
Google Cloud experience a plus
