General Function:
Responsible for purchasing of all inventoried material. Planner will manage POs and work with supplier and internal partners to ensure the timely arrival of materials while keeping an efficient level of on hand inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute purchase orders for all inventoried materials as well as indirect materials used for finished good production.
Expedite and de-expedite orders based on changed in finished good demand.
Create materials forecasts for finance and sourcing partners.
Maintain effective communication with venders as well as sourcing partners.
Work with receiving team to ensure timely receipt of materials and make any necessary adjustments to orders based on those receipts.
Assure new and changed Bill of Materials drive correct purchases
Manage priorities for inbound containers
Helps when needed in maintenance of accurate inventory and scheduling
Knowledge and Skills:
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, logistics, or related field with a primary focus in manufacturing or equivalent work experience. Strong skillset with Microsoft Office, namely Excel required. At least 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or inventory control environment and management/supervision experience preferred. APICS certification and SAP experience is preferred. Lean manufacturing mentality and implementation experience required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
