Job Description

Overview:  Corning Specialty Materials seeks an IMS Infrastructure Support resource in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.  This individual will support Corning’s manufacturing infrastructure including configuration, maintenance, enhancement and troubleshooting of our network environment, and manufacturing controls systems interfaces with PLCs and robotics. Support includes computers, switches, servers, and interfacing with Corning’s corporate IT resources to implement, maintain, and resolve system issues.  The job is focused on installation, integration and maintenance of infrastructure and direct interaction with controls resources in support of a manufacturing environment.  This position requires 5-10% domestic travel to other US Corning Manufacturing Sites, with the possibility of some short-term international assignments (less than 2 weeks). Position requires +2 years of experience supporting networking environments.  Must include: Network system fundamentals, basic cabling and server understanding, Microsoft product experience including Active Directory. 

 

Responsibilities:

Installation and maintenance of network infrastructure
Troubleshooting of WAN, LAN, hardware, and software
IMS / Manufacturing support
Interface with Controls engineering and other manufacturing groups
Operating system and security software configuration and compliance
Asset Management

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related experience
2+ years of experience

 

Technical qualifications:

Excellent troubleshooting skills
Cisco network experience
In-depth cabling knowledge
Active Directory experience
Microsoft Windows, Office, and security software experience
