Job Description

The Sales Manager performs a wide variety of managerial/sales duties for the purpose of overall management of all efforts that lead to increasing sales volume and improving margins. The manager will be responsible for leading a team of field sales professionals while serving as coach, consultant and manager.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for designing and driving sales strategy and initiatives by understanding and alignment with project strategy.

Will monitor, measure, and manage the sales execution strategy to achieve the project goals.
Thoroughly assess and communicate the progress of the sales execution effort.
Consistently assess and communicate the probability of meeting objectives of the project.
This role requires close collaboration with segment and project leadership, sales leadership, and functional partners to succeed.
Effective incumbents will have the ability to develop sales force capability, manage within the automotive, architectural, and sales ecosystem, set sales strategy, manage and protect accounts, build and maintain key internal and customer relationships and have a commitment to leading with insight and building effective partnerships.

Responsibilities

Market Analysis and Measurement

Consistently provide frequent feedback of market insights, successes, barriers and results of sales initiatives.
Gather market intelligence and identify options for taking advantage of opportunities.
Understand business context and stakeholder needs to support options and decisions.
Monthly summary of team’s key market insights, key successes, key barriers and key results from sales initiatives.
Conduct monthly Territory Management Reviews with individual Account Managers and provide roll-up to North America Sales Manager
Establish measures to ensure effectiveness of execution plan and provide clear indication of progress towards meeting goals/objectives.
Establish and manage sales plan and objectives
Align sales objectives with business objectives and business strategy
Plan, organize, direct and control sales staff to meet objectives
Monitor sales performance against monthly objective.
Coach and develop team members
Assess teams’ capability and performance; identify strengths and gaps and establish development plan to address.
Provide coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information to team in order to help meet sales objectives.
Support selling processes where needed.
Coach team in area of call preparation, call reports and follow up externally and internally

Qualifications

5 years relevant, applicable sales experience.

Strong communication skills.
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook, Salesforce.com as well as general computer skills.
Proven track record in managing and directing a highly skilled, motivated, successful and results-oriented sales force.
Willingness to travel up to 75% within the US, and work in a global team of professionals.
Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment.
