Job Description

Position Overview

Assist senior management with supervision and training of the contracted security staff as well as performing duties specifically connected with protecting employees, visitors, guests and property of RGA Corporation for threat or harm. Requires a broad base knowledge of information technology as it relates to operating multiple aspects of an integrated security system (Genetec preferred). This includes visitor management software, credentialing, security camera systems and alarms. GSOC security officer will assist senior management in providing support to all global offices integrated into the Genetec security system.

Responsibilities

Assist Corporate Security Supervisor with maintaining and updating the security system database for credentialing for all employees, consultants, vendors and 3rd party contractors including creating ID Badges, assigning proper access rights, and configuring internal and external groups

Responsible for providing 24/7 security support to all global offices integrated into the Genetec security system. Including credentialing, ensuing proper access, alarms, analytics, trouble shooting.

Provide support for global offices with security access issues as a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) member with a rotating on-call status
Available for rotating on call schedule to respond to Global Access issues

Implement and create alarm controls for all RGA offices (analytic, intrusion, etc)
Assist senior security staff with the day to day operations of RGA facilities.
Assists Corporate Security Director with supervising, managing and evaluating contracted security personnel
Assists with safety projects and acts a resource for contract security staff and global offices in providing education and guidance for system issues.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex security system issues
Conduct various security audits, analysis and generate appropriate reports.
Communicate security concepts and information to contracted staff
Manage, monitor and regulate facility access of associates, contractors and, visitors and vendors through applicable security systems.
Continually monitor the security system, including cameras, alarms and personnel to ensure the functionality of the system.
Understand and work successfully with employees who have urgent and conflicting demands
Respond to and document incidents occurring on RGA property according to established procedures
Ability to examine and evaluate physical security conditions / risks and make recommendations, decisions, changes or corrections for mitigation
Assign, conduct patrols and identify safety / security concerns
Ability to obtain any preferred Security Officer License required

Requirements

Proficient IT ability in operating, navigating and troubleshooting all aspects of an integrated security system
Ability to navigate multiple software, applications systems and databases concurrently.
Ability to continuously review and analyze real time information regarding the physical security status of the facility and personnel
Possess a broad based knowledge of best practices for security related systems and issues
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as an effective team member
Ensure all display and data systems in the Global Security Operations Center are functioning properly
Ability to work within the confines of the incident command system and forge relationships with local law enforcement and first responders
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to build partnerships on an internal and external basis
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Demonstrate business computer aptitude and the ability to navigate multiple software applications or databases concurrently
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
Proven abilities in conflict resolution techniques
Ability to work flexible hours, alternating shifts and weekends, on-call 24/7
Ability to use computer, handheld communication devices, and various security systems and devices

High School or General Education Diploma, college education preferred.
Minimum of five years of law enforcement (preferred), security, military, public safety experience or a related field;
Proven proficiency with security applications and analytics. Preferred Genetec Security System, experience
Ability to operate and navigate applications associated with the EZ Lobby Visitor Management System
First responder experience (current license preferred)
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Licensed as a Security Officer in St. Louis City, and St. Louis County
Functional knowledge of the Incident Command System
