Career Opportunity:

We are presently looking for an Area Human Resources Manager to lead the HR capability for our Mid-South manufacturing sites located in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee.  In this role you will serve as the HR Leader for 3 business units comprising of 10 manufacturing plants.

The Area HR Manager is responsible for leading implementation of core HR programs and employee-related initiatives across multiple business units to ensure an effective, sustainable people strategy over the long term.

·  Serve as change agent as WestRock continues to expand with a goal of providing world-class customer and employee experience.

·  Promote employee and organizational development including leadership development, succession planning, performance management programs, skills gap analysis, and individual career development.

·  Lead and execute key initiatives and provide solutions for employee relations, organization development, performance management, workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent development, succession planning and diversity and inclusion.

·  Partner and engage with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits and HR Services to design and lead initiatives which serve to advance the agenda of the function and ensure we have strong programming, support, and solutions in place to attract, develop and retain the talent and capabilities needed to meet business objectives.

·  Identifies/raises needs to mitigate potential risks by collaborating with the Legal profession; collaborates with peers in other businesses, regions, or geographies to share input and drive standardized/scalable approach.

What you need to succeed:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.

·  10+ years of experience in a fast-paced HR business partner or business role, preferably supporting multi-site/shift manufacturing environments. 

·  A hands-on, self-motivated, and goal-oriented individual who is an agent for positive change and innovation, inspiring employees to the highest standards of performance through frequent communication, good management practices, performance measurement systems, and leadership.

·  Critical thinking skills, effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.

·  Continuous improvement mindset: where possible make decisions, which support “One Westrock” model.  Seek to eliminate waste and improve processes to drive efficiencies and valued outcomes.

·  Ability to influence at varying levels across the organization

·  A strong ability to multitask and manage a variety of issues/projects simultaneously; able to work autonomously; ability to meet multiple deadlines.

·  The ability to analyze data (real time, historical, unstructured, structured, qualitative) to identify patterns and generate insights to inform and make decisions.

·  Ability to cooperate in both interpersonal and team relationships to foster enthusiasm and maintain mutual trust, candor, and respect for others. Works through conflict constructively.

·  Possess strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

·  Ability to travel domestically - 25%
