In this role, you will assist the firmware engineering team with test equipment setup, solid state drive (SSD) configuration, validation, script development, issue analysis, and regression testing.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Assemble, configure and maintain test equipment stations (PCs, FPGAs, custom test systems).
Configure associated test equipment (logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
Coordinate and manage site inventories and licensing, including drives, equipment, firmware/tools, etc.
Stand up and maintain developer bench setups as needed.
Create standardized system configurations and retrofit to existing systems as needed.
Recommend and itemize equipment needs for lab and developer bench systems.
Perform issue reproduction and debug data retrieval to support debug and failure analysis.
Perform troubleshooting and first-level failure analysis as needed in support of firmware engineers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Associate degree or better in engineering technology or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years related experience.
Knowledgeable in these areas:

Windows and Linux system administration and configuration.
Python scripting.

Desired, but not required, experience includes:

Prior work with SSDs or other storage devices.
Configuration and use of protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Knowledge of SAS and PCIe protocols.
Background in hardware electronics and hardware troubleshooting.

Skillsets

Ability to read technical instructions and specifications.
Ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment based on engineering team needs.
Strong written and verbal communication skill sets.  Proficiency in English, both spoken and written is required.
Strong interpersonal skills in working with software/firmware engineers.
