Responsible for providing development services for the integration of applications with our development team.  The purpose and objectives of this team is to write APIs and to ensure that these are deployed and consumed in an optimal way delivering the desired results for our internal customers.  The developer will work with Business Analysts and Architects primarily to outline solutions for the business needs by building APIs that will allow the integration of applications with our Box platform.

The Senior Developer must demonstrate effective application of knowledge and have appreciation of the wider business context.  He/she will:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related discipline (significant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

8+ years experienced as a full-stack Java developer, object-oriented programming and creating RESTful APIs, setting standards and designing with the API user experience in mind.

Solid knowledge and understanding of the functional design and architecture of application systems across multiple technical domains and platforms

Developing code using iterative agile/scrum methodologies

Strong knowledge of Agile software development best practices, unit testing, continuous integration, etc.

Experienced with Modern DevOps tools and techniques including GitHub, CI/CD, and Docker

Experienced with the following technologies: Java spring boot, JSON, REST and SOAP APIs

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to engage and collaborate with people across a variety of levels with different backgrounds and tech experiences

Decision-making, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Critical thinker, handles complex issues and engages team members when assistance is needed

Highly organized, able to manage time and work from a prioritized list of planned activities for the team

Mentor more junior members of the team and able to influence and drive directions across the team
