Job Description
Responsibilities
As an Accounting & Reporting Intern you will play an integral role in the following key activities:
Performing technical analysis of significant contracts and non-recurring accounting transactions
Accounting for employee benefits, stock-based compensation and income taxes as needed
Evaluating assets such as goodwill, licenses, and equity method investments for impairment
Quarter-end SEC 10-Q or 10-K preparation and filing process
This position affords the opportunity to learn valuable technical accounting research and formal documentation skills that could be readily applied in any future business endeavor.
Duration and Work Schedule
Open to part-time (15+) hours starting in March and full-time starting in May/June 2022. Core business hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Exact start and end dates are flexible. There may be an opportunity to stay on part-time during the 2022-2023 academic year depending on course schedule and business needs.
Location
This position is located at corporate headquarters in Middleton, WI. However, due to current conditions we support virtual work until it is safe to return to the office.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting
Completion of Intermediate Accounting course
Preferred Qualifications
Completed coursework in financial reporting and business writing
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-starter with sound decision making
High sense of ownership over assigned responsibilities
General understanding of U.S GAAP desirable
