HollyFrontier Tulsa Refinery, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma is seeking for an IT Site Operations Desktop Technician. The successful candidate's primary duties will be responsible for providing Information Technology (IT) technical support at the local operational level. Resolves mid level technical issues to the Companys end point devises and conducts routine technical assignments and projects for the IT Department under moderate supervision. This position will be the first and second level responder to address and support issues related to the local operational IT systems, desktops, printers and client support. Coordinate and assist with hardware and software upgrades at the local operational level.
This position is not eligible for International Relocation Program benefits.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
* Provides Tier 2 desktop support
* Provides general and specialized desktop, telecom, application, and infrastructure support (i.e., desktop, cabling, printers, hardware, software, LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)
* Provides telephone and e-mail support to all assigned sites using various tools and after-hours support as assigned
* Maintains desktop hardware and peripherals inventory within the asset management system in accordance with established process and procedures; assists with desktop hardware and peripheral asset refreshes and in the end of life process of retired equipment
* May create MSI or application deployment packages for quick install of all applications
* Assists with small projects on an local operational level
* Provides limited on-site network monitoring and support. Responds to local user support issues as assigned. If necessary, coordinates additional assistance from next level of network support.
* Deploys related mobile devices and software
* Facilitates support of multi-function copiers and printers (will likely coordinate with a 3rd party) Evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and provides recommendations as needed
* Provides minimal server administration duties as assigned including the maintenance of Windows Server.
* Recommends add-on technologies and customizations to Company software systems to provide efficiencies to business operations
* Writes clear, concise, and accurate documentation and provides training (i.e., work procedures, how to guides)
* Protects all Infrastructure systems from unauthorized access (i.e., MPLS, WAN, Wireless, PBX)
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five years of job-related experience is required.
EDUCATION:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
A Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or related field is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Entry level knowledge of applications systems and ability to apply this knowledge. Entry level working knowledge of information systems concepts/design/development, systems development life cycle, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning; decision-making, analytical, and problem solving skills. Conceptual and data analysis skills, advanced reading skills, the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, intermediate reading and writing skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
Administration, implementation and support experience required with printers, copiers, phones, laptops, desktops, print servers, and switches. Troubleshooting of Desktop applications.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Certifications: Microsoft certifications (MCDST, MCSA, MTA); ITIL Foundation.
Network, PC hardware and software certifications (A+, N+) are preferred.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Office based with up to 30% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery and driver based environment including but not limited to chemical, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to risk of electrical shock. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasionally required to work long hours which may include nights, weekends, holidays for regularly scheduled maintenance and emergency work and support as well as on-call availability.
