Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs is actively recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in the Contract Administration Group for our Rockport, IN manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the Department Manager of Contract Administration, the Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the design and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems-this includes power systems, relay logic, motor controls, AC drives, programmable logic controllers, personal computers and instrumentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and installation supervision of projects that directly reduce down time or improve product quality
Troubleshoot and supervise repairs of electrical systems
Replace substandard systems
Identify failed components and causes that led to their failure
Assist in outages
Oversight of contractors and outside engineering firms work
Perform root cause analysis and prepare corrective action reports
Work closely with finishing operations personnel, maintenance supervisors and other employees
Qualifications:
A technical degree preferred or equivalent experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Power systems knowledge of substations is a plus
Routinely exposed to plant environment including noise, dust, dirt and vibrations, extreme climate changes / changes in weather
