JOB OVERVIEW:
Performance as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, taxing authorities, restaurant operators and other Restaurant Support Center departments, gathering and relaying information, as needed. Assist management in tax return-related processes, tax payments, and other administrative duties. Prepare monthly reconciliations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Payments: Maintain the income tax payment schedule and reconciliations on a monthly basis, including assistance with responses to state and federal notices from taxing jurisdictions, as needed
-Mail: Assist with opening all department mail and with the preparation of copies, scanning and mailing items for tax returns, estimated tax payments, certified receipts, vouchers and envelopes
-Accounting: Ensure proper accounting for tax accruals, payments and other tax related -expenses; Prepare applicable journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
-Harvest: Work with external service providers to ensure monthly/quarterly recording of food donation benefits to the general ledger. Liaison with operating companies for any questions regarding program administration.
-Income Tax Compliance: Prepares annual income tax return supporting work papers and tax calculations for federal and state jurisdiction filings.
-Tax Accounting: Assists SFA with various quarterly current and deferred tax inputs for external financial and forecast reporting purposes.
-Legal Entities: Assist with the registration and dissolution of new legal entities, including new entity Form SS-4 requests and new authority to do business requests.
-Annual Reports: Track, prepare, file and record status of all annual reports in HCue.
-Research and respond to internal departments requiring assistance.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
-Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
-Fast, accurate 10-key by touch
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School diploma
OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS
-Ability to prioritize, handle multiple priorities in efficient manner and meet deadlines
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
-Analytical and detail oriented
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Exceptional attention to details
-Ability to communicate effectively with taxing authorities, analysts, IT and accounting departments and restaurant managers
-Outstanding organizational skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
-Oracle Discoverer, Hyperion Financial Management, Business Intelligence experience is a plus
