Director of Search Analytics

Job Description

The right candidate will need to be business and analytically savvy, as well as demonstrate the leadership quality to take the Analytics Team to the next level. This role is customer-focused at its core, while being deeply rooted in relevant insights developed from data. They will need to have strong knowledge of analytics, modeling, experiments, business intelligence, and tools for extracting and manipulating data ‘at-scale’, as well as a deep understanding of how customer-centric analytics can optimally drive global business decisions.
 

To be Successful on the Role:

At least 10 years of industry experience in analytics, statistical modeling. Experience in Search Science and Experience or eCommerce is required

Deep understanding of machine learning methods and evaluation methods. Masters or PhD of a science (e.g. mathematics, physics, engineering, statistics, data science) is preferred.

Proficient in SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Hadoop, Spark.

Experience with site experimentation (A/B testing), econometrics, or causal inference

You have vast experience working with product analytics

Capable of collaborating with leaders and all levels of product partners, as well as other analytics teams and other domains and functions of eBay

Effective communication, able to distill quantitative and complicated findings to clear stories

Experience in leading data science teams

Big picture thinking, Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity.
