Job Description


Position Summary: Provides excellent and prompt customer service by assisting clients with various inquiries and requests associated with Dept. of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Title and Registration services involving multiple states and jurisdictions.  Applies knowledge to a wide variety of vehicles that includes cars, passenger vans, commercial vehicles, tractor-trailers, equipment, etc. The ability to process documents and applications accurately and timely is critical.
Essential functions: 
• Receives customer calls and assists walk in customers with processing DMV applications through BPA system   
• Interprets, applies, and explains to clients the California Vehicle Code, administrative regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining the registration and ownership of motor vehicles
• Determines if vehicles are subject to registration and transfer of ownership
• Preparing processing logs, other needed documents, verifies fees, penalties, and charges, sets up folders 
• Ensures full compliance with DMV protocols and requirements. May research information and contact DMV as necessary.
• Update, and maintain processing logs   
• Invoice Clients for services and fees
• Performs other duties as needed
Other functions: May need to visually check vehicles for body type, usage, and verification of identification (VIN) and license numbers.
Physical Requirements: 
• Frequent use of fingers, hands and wrists
• Sitting for more than 6 hours per day
• Standing and walking for less than 1 hour per day
• Limited stooping, bending, and twisting
Required Qualifications: 
Required to pass a Live Scan and Background check
•High school diploma or GED
• Related experience preferred in a dealership, auction, DMV, transportation company or similar service
• Experience utilizing customer service skills while working under pressure
• Good computer skills to navigate between applications once trained
• Detail oriented, organized and has the ability to problem solve
• Must show initiative and be reliable to work with a high level of independence
Preferred Qualifications: 
• Some college experience or Associates degree
• Bilingual helpful, but not required
• Reliable transportation
