This role in summary
Paralegal position reporting directly to the Corporate Secretary and Head of Patents providing legal research, contract review, and process support for both the Corporate Governance and Patent teams.
Your responsibilities will include
Provide patent support including initial review of legal service requests, initiation of outside counsel work, governmental filings and timeline/meeting management
Review and advise on nondisclosure and development agreements
Provide subsidiary management support including database management and reporting, legal document drafting, review of outside counsel materials, and meeting management
Coordinator for the annual SEC reporting/annual meeting process
Provide corporate governance support including research on Securities and Exchange Commission filings and backup for Section 16, Form 8-K and NYSE filings
Drive continuous improvement in knowledge management, including internal Google sites, electronic (Google Drive) and physical file management and information sharing
Drive continuous improvement for key metrics, indicators and reporting in our legal processes
Drive value creation in legal processes to drive bottomline value to the company, through efficiencies and informed risk taking
Assist with budget forecasts, financial reporting accuracy and optimization of resources
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
1+ year of legal experience

Excellent organizational skills with a passion for accuracy, attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Ability to independently complete complex, multi-step processes
Ability to work in a dynamic environment by organizing and prioritizing work and managing multiple concurrent projects in a calm, confident manner
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Willingness and ability to take initiative, anticipate issues and offer solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent PC skills, including strong proficiency in Google Slides, Sheets and Docs as well as Word, Excel, email, internet search engines, database tools
