Job Description

Role Value Proposition: 

The Senior Data Security Admin will identify, develop, and implement cloud database security solutions to enhance MetLife’s policy and controls environment. This hands-on position also requires strong global collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams, to ensure that the design of cloud database technology solutions comply with MetLife’s information risk and security policies and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to continuously monitor cloud database services to ensure the latest security improvements can be implemented. Ability to remediate issues around misconfigurations that might arise out of improper practices.
Willingness to learn new technologies/Cloud Platforms and ability to understand how security controls are implemented in the Cloud.
Some experience on cloud instance/storage design, provisioning and performance monitoring
On-prem to cloud migrations
Perform Technical Security Reviews, and Risk Assessments
Ensure all database environments at MetLife are secure and appropriately monitoring for risk and vulnerabilities.  Database environments include SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Hadoop, Sybase, DB2, and UDB.
Partnering with architecture, engineering, application, security, and operational staff to identify and drive resolution on database security gaps.
Handling operations and maintenance, while integrating output from these tools into daily security operations.
Interfacing with vendors to ensure the appropriate tools, configurations, and workflows are in place.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:   

5+ years of solid experience with designing, implementing, supporting and scaling SQL Server.
Experience in Information Security domains with any of the major public Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and ability to translate different security domains into controls.
Experience with Postgres/CosmosDB and other cloud databases
Technologist that can pick things up very quickly, be independent, and become an expert.
Willingness to learn. Possess strong communication skills and be able to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely.
Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment

Preferred:

Certification in one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security Specialty, CCSP, CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
BA/BS in related field
Strong record of success in supporting large scale programs, preferably in a global organization.
