Job Description

OVERVIEW

The Distribution Planner is a member of the plant support team responsible for developing the manufacturing schedule and raw material plan. They work with vendors, sourcing, transportation, operations, and corporate logistics to develop production schedules, support new items, discontinuations, and promotions, and manage inbound material flow, supply disruptions, product changes, and material age.  This role will partner on the logistics team to back up other planners, improve inventory accuracy, and manage costs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

 Develop 3 month finite schedule and packaging schedule to optimize plant operations balanced with the needs of the business.
 Build raw material plan to support manufacturing plant schedule, including placing PO’s, expediting materials, coordinating material changes, and managing costs associated with raw materials, using SAP ERP.
 Support plant logistics goals of raw material days of supply and material disruptions.
 Participate in rate setting process for manufacturing systems.
 Deliver outstanding daily results through process rigor, attention to detail, sense of urgency and time management.
 Have strong understanding of plant manufacturing floor capabilities
 Communicate across multiple functions & levels regarding business opportunities & risk
 Influence cross functional partners through root cause analysis for inventory control, vendor performance indicators, and transportation opportunities
 Lead plant projects that support supply chain HMM and cost avoidance goals
 Manage plant events that require scheduling/raw material changes with minimal cost implications
 Communicate and build relationships with vendors for material procurement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Bachelor's degree
 3 years related experience
 Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
 Embrace process standardization and champion change
 Possess a high level of initiative and energy to influence and lead change
 Commitment to superior customer service and ability to build cross-functional relationships
 Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
 Solid computer background (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
 Ability to flex hours to support 24/7 manufacturing site

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Degree in supply chain, logistics, or business
 SAP experience (APO/MRP/ERP) or other similar planning system
 Manufacturing plant experience
