Western Digital is currently seeking a Senior Director, Financial Planning, and Analysis to join our Hard Disk Drive Business Unit Finance Team. This position will provide extensive business partnering and will have ownership of all aspects of forecast, reports, and Key Performance Indicators for the Client+ Segment Group. This position may be based in Irvine or San Jose and will require travel between California locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Own and drive the strategic direction of the FP&A function for Client + segment group, including financial planning and tracking of revenue, margin, and cost, monthly close support, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and variance analyses
* Advise and partner with General Manager and segment leads for Client+ group to forecast and execute P&L
* Lead analysis of complex financial information from various sources to size risks and opportunities as well as provide strategic recommendations to executives
* Lead the preparation, reporting and presentation of operating plans and reviews of performance and metrics
* Lead the preparation of presentations, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, and detailed analysis to summarize key business conclusions for management on revenue and gross margin
* Serve as liaison between BU Marketing and Engineering and Finance leadership on short and long term financial planning
* Develop financial models and analyses to support business objectives and strategic initiatives
* Own return on investment analysis
* Manage a team of finance professionals; lead, mentor, and grow the team
* Lead and/ or participate in special projects as assigned

REQUIRED:

* Bachelors degree required; MBA or Masters degree in science-based discipline preferred
* 15+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
* 10 or more years of management experience required
* Ability to convey financial performance to audiences at different levels in the organization
* Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, and ability to work and effectively communicate with senior-level business partners
* Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
* People management skills and leadership, the ability to inspire and motivate a team
* Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Enterprise Financial Planning Systems

SKILLS:

* Successful candidates need to have a demonstrated track record of positive results related to leading Financial Analysis, Accounting, Competitive Analysis, Strategic Planning and Business Operations. Additionally, a successful candidate needs to demonstrate leadership and an understanding of key metrics that drive a successful business and team.
* Experience in leading and owning FP&A, Forecasting, Scenario Planning, P&L, and Balance Sheet analysis, Financial Modelling, Process Design & improvement
* Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges
* Ability to lead and work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
* Build authentic relationships and partnerships while demonstrating the ability to adapt and work collaboratively across a matrixed environment
* Excellent consultative and communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels and geographies
* Demonstrated advanced knowledge of business management, finance and program management current trends, best practices, ethics, laws and regulations
* Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to defend ideas, respect the ideas of others, and be receptive to considering and integrating alternative perspectives
* A demonstrated strategic thinker, proven capable of integrating diverse inputs, encouraging innovation, and challenging the status quo
