This position is part of the Supplier Quality Assessment and Development team. SQAD is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing technology, materials, and supply chain design. In this position, you, as a Staff Supplier Engineer you play a vital role with the remote factory suppliers. You will have the opportunity to work across organizational functions to resolve technical, quality, and production challenges, as well as the opportunity to develop excellence in Product Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
Candidate should be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting internal and external customers. This individual should also possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently in a close-knit team setting.
Other Job Responsibilities
Work with Lam Product Group Engineering organizations in the development and release of new integrated assemblies & products to remote factory suppliers – Mechatronics and Motion Controls
Coordinate and support the investigation of key quality defects of components from the customers and/or field service team to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
Drive the improvement of the remote factory suppliers’ quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost, and on-time delivery
Act as liaison / technical lead for cross-functional projects to include Build Verify and Production Readiness Review
Audit and document supply base performance on critical process of records and overall quality management systems
Collaborate on the continuous development of supply base through close teamwork with product management, global product group, and supplier business managers
Leads, and is personally accountable for high-profile project timelines and milestones.
Continuously working on process improvement and developing Best Known Methods
Provide technical support in Build, Test and FQA to suppliers in deposition and etch product deployment and transition
Perform Standardized Supplier Quality Audits and administer Supplier Quality Scorecard for existing suppliers to promote continuous improvement.
Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis on defects and Escalations
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from accredited University
12 years related experience
Creative thinking and strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, including experience in the areas of mechanical and chemical engineering
Solid understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mass/momentum/heat transfer
Solid understanding of statistical process control and basic statistical analysis used in a production setting
Solid understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes
Experience in supplier process development & quality management
Understanding of failure analysis and problem-solving
Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
International & domestic travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical/fluid delivery system design
Systems engineering and integration and customer fab knowledge
Solid understanding of various problem-solving methodologies to include 8-D/5 why
Project Management / Team Lead experience
Semiconductor equipment industry experience
Experience with working with global suppliers
Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
