The Sr. Engineer position will be part of Rockwell Automation’s Global Solutions Business, which is focused on providing PlantPAx® process solutions to our customers in a number of process industry verticals. The Sr. Engineer position is responsible for executing assigned tasks around the development of application standards and packaged solutions for information systems interfaces as it relates to the design, configuration and deployment of Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAx® Distributed Control System (DCS).
The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), object oriented programing languages and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) project experience, including the testing and on-site startup of those interfaces and applications.
Under the direction of the Technology Manager this position will be responsible for the following activities:
The development and maintenance of all standards and packaged applications related to the interfacing of the PlantPAx® DCS to our customer’s MES and ERP systems. This includes SQL Server based MES application solutions including database schema design, stored procedure development, database maintenance scripts,  MSSQL reporting services reports, FactoryTalk® VantagePoint reports and PTC Thingworx® reports.
In addition this position is responsible for developing and maintaining Human Machine Interface (HMI), Alarm & Events (A&E) configurations and deployment standards as related to the PlantPAx® DCS.
Qualifications/Requirements:

BS Degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical Engineering.

3 to 8 years of experience in designing and deploying SQL Server based MES solutions including report development in the industrial automation space.

Hands-on experience with common software and hardware; i.e. Microsoft Office®, Microsoft Visio®, Microsoft SQL Server®, Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Visual Studio®

Database programming experience using Transact-SQL language.

HMI application development following ISA 101 and ISA 18.2 standards using FactoryTalk® View SE software.

VBA and other scripting language programing experience.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.

Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.

Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.

Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team.

Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, ships, etc., which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other unusual work environments.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience installing Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk® Software’s.

Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Automation’s PlantPAx® DCS.

Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Automation ThinManager® Software.

Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk® Historian Software.

Knowledge and experience with Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk® VantagePoint Software.

Knowledge and experience with PTC ThingWorx® Platform

Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies

Experience installing and configuring vSphere ESXi host servers, creating and deploying virtual machines.

Experience with Alarm Rationalization and Alarm Management related to process applications.
