Responsibilities:
Inform and guide Salesforce products to enable corporate action on climate policy
Build and maintain relationships with community partners and trade associations to accelerate Salesforce’s own climate policy journey as well as enable our ecosystem to use its voice to influence policy
Identify and track climate-related legislation across state, federal or international jurisdictions; manage review from cross-functional partners, and consolidate feedback
Analyze proposed climate legislation, regulation, policies and practices to identify potential climate and business impacts; recommend new or adapted policies to maximize climate benefits
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, community partners and trade associations to identify emerging climate policy issues; develop strategies to advance climate policies priorities
Supercharge our climate policy work by engaging cross-functional teams to develop informed positions on key climate policy mechanisms
Required skills and experience:
5+ years experience in U.S. state, local, federal or international corporate public policy, advocacy or related fields with a focus on climate
Demonstrated comprehension of climate change/climate science with expertise in specific climate topics (e.g. energy, carbon, etc.)
Experience designing and/or evaluating legislative policies with an eye toward climate, economic, and environmental justice impacts
Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships with key internal and external partners
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of distilling complicated topics into clear public-facing resources
Experience working alongside software developers and understanding of the software development process
Confidence and ability to effectively lead, manage and execute multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
