APEX Software Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated SCRUM Master/Software Engineer who exhibits the drive to learn and grow within a world class enterprise system. As a Scrum Master/Software Engineer on the APEX Program you will help develop and maintain the ground-based mission planning and command and control software to accommodate the next-generation satellite capabilities, and implementation of new ground terminals. Our complex domain requires innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs. On Apex you will work with teams of talented engineers to develop and improve advanced algorithms that handle large data sets with complex constraints. This position will report to the APEX SMC IPT Lead.
As a SCRUM Master/Software Engineer, you will facilitates and participates in the effort for the SMC development team. This is a critical position and plays a key role in the success of the software development on the program. This role works closely with the IPT Leadership, the IPT Tech Lead, Product Owner, and development team, to de-conflict IPT Development priorities, resolve cross-IPT issues, lead the sprint planning and facilitate cross-team/cross-discipline coordination and communication. This position will also acts for the IPT Leadership in coordination with the Product Owner to plan and execute the software sprints and builds in support of the IMS. The SCRUM Master/Software Engineer will also participates in the software development and the majority of the time will be spent designing, implementing, and testing new/modified software.

Responsibilities:
* Develop code in compliance with requirements and defined architecture
* Support change request (CR) work-off
* Support Test Engineering for integration and test activities and events
* Participate in Change Request Review Board (CRRB), as needed
* Occasionally, provide input to cost estimation efforts for MCRs, ECPs, and proposals
* Facilitate daily scrums, drive agile behavior, and ensure program processes are followed
* Remove scrum team impediments and protect the team from outside influence
* Track and status team progress
* Conduct/Lead quarterly increment planning and develop increment metrics; Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
* With the Product Owner, provide input to the Program Build Plan and de-conflict with the program delivery Plan
* Work with IPT Tech Lead and Product Owners to define the Increment and Build Plan priorities
* Conduct and Publish Retrospectives from each Sprint/Increment
* Communicate objectives and priorities to teams effectively
* Engage with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners and IPT Leadership as required to assure that all relevant inputs to the Product Backlog have been collected and prioritized
* Assure feature story completion and acceptance criteria is met
* Keep management informed of impacts and solution paths for ongoing issues
* Must be able to facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches
* Understand basic fundamentals of agile software development processes and procedures
* Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
* Work with the SW CPT Lead to report Agile Development Metrics
* Facilitate effective and efficient meetings
* Drive team to meet sprint/increment commitments
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
Qualification you must have:
* A minimum of 6 years of relevant software development experience using Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) skills
* A minimum of 3 years of programming experience in Java
* A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Agile practices, DevOps, and continuous integration processes (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, etc.)
* Familiarity with Unix, Linux, and or Windows Operating Systems (Linux preferred)
* Ability to lead/manage tasks over a small group of engineers (<10) and coordinate issues/priorities across disciplines
* Ability to work in a high paced environment with flexibility in job role
* Ability to mentor junior engineers
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Current in the technologies, methodologies, processes and tools used in the software industry with a demonstrated track record of deploying these on programs.
* Experience with Application Lifecycle Management applications
* Record of High Performance and proven/well-developed problem-solving skills
* Ability to engage stakeholders in critical discussions and building consensus
* Active TS/SCI clearance
