Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Participates in the analysis of potential investment opportunities by understanding the basic components of an offering memorandum, helping support industry and/or asset class research, having a basic understanding of a company's capital structure and financial position, beginning to analyze comparable investment opportunities, developing an ability to assess and interact with company management and exploring other unique features of an opportunity.

Provides research support and monitors market or economic data that may affect credit quality, internal ratings and/or prices for fixed income investments and/or fund positions held within the portfolio.

Participates in group discussions held to generate value added investment ideas.

Engages and actively participates in skill development, which includes learning the important features of industries and/or asset classes and understanding how effective communication of industry research is important to the overall success of Investment Management.

Develops an understanding of evaluating securities that have encountered financial distress and applies that learning.

Increases the understanding of proposals made by others to buy, hold or sell distressed assets. May participate in the development of the proposals.

Coordinates with investment operations and other business units within the Enterprise so as to ensure the appropriate maintenance of files, databases and recordkeeping.

Develops an understanding of proper documentation for regulatory and compliance purposes. Applies learning of documentation processes to ensure files are easily found, understood and maintained by others.

Bachelor's Degree.

Ability to learn how others make judgments regarding credit, risk and valuation.

Ability to travel up to 10%.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:

Experience with financial statement analysis.

Demonstrates an interest in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.

Pay commensurate with experience.
