POSITION OVERVIEW

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Design Production Manager Lead.  We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and build communication processes and design sequences in the field of infrastructure design; someone who can appropriately apply innovative technical solutions to solve problems and provide services to our clients.  This position includes participation on planning, directing, and monitoring all project management aspects of project tasks, and requires an understanding of project management principles, a commitment to quality, and dedication to client satisfaction and project delivery. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, infrastructure facilities and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. 

DISTRICT OVERVIEW

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects.  Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk.  Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety.   Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. LOCATION

This role will be based out of Kiewit’s Woodcliff Lake, NJ office but also maybe project specific travel involved.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Represent, supervise, and mentor a highly successful regional team of production managers
•    Work interactively with the design quality team for a diversity of public- and private-sector clients, and work with other leaders across Kiewit to advance the technical and business applications of the design production in both pursuit and execution of projects.
•    Coordinate different engineering and architecture activities within Kiewit’s offices and across the company, including coordination of personnel resources and project pursuits as an integral member of regional, and national leadership teams. 
•    Lead design production business development activities including forging and maintaining client relationships, writing proposals, and giving presentations.
•    Will implement project and program specific QA/QC procedures and support a culture of quality among the team and practice. 
•    Will monitor emerging innovative solutions and market opportunities within the design production practice while developing strategies to ensure Kiewit maintains our reputation as technical leaders in project delivery. 
•    Planning and implementation of project management tools, policies and procedures, and project controls.   

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Registered professional engineer or architect with a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in design build projects in the eastern US and nationally.
•    Comprehensive and practical understanding of the analysis and design of infrastructure in North America.  A robust understanding of applicable codes and standards, and intimate knowledge of modeling/analysis/design software used throughout the industry.
•    Firsthand experience in developing and implementing a robust Project Specific Design Criteria including effectively communicating the criteria to the project team and monitoring its compliance through the QC program.
•    Firsthand experience in developing and implementing design schedules for both the pursuit and execution phases of projects and programs.  
•    Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write technical memos and papers.
•    Demonstrate the ability to serve as a conduit for a project specific QA/QC plan and drive the implementation of design QA/QC.
•    Ability to identify industry trends and determine where company capabilities can be marketed to existing and potential clients.
•    Set-up of Design Services During Construction protocols and communication process between construction and design. 
•    Prior experience in personnel supervision required
•    Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
